Quality Assurance

Materials Testing

Construction quality assurance to keep your project on schedule and on spec. From earthworks to structural concrete.

QA That Keeps Projects on Track

Materials testing involves field and laboratory testing to confirm that soil, fill, and concrete construction meets design specifications. Coast Geotechnical provides compaction testing, concrete testing, and subgrade assessment for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across Western Canada, keeping projects on schedule and on spec.

Our technicians work closely with contractors and project managers to deliver timely results that keep projects moving, while ensuring fills, subgrades, and concrete meet the required standards.

All testing is carried out by trained technicians under the supervision of a licensed geotechnical engineer.

How It Works

01

Scheduling & Coordination

We coordinate with your project manager or contractor to schedule testing at critical milestones: fill placement, subgrade prep, concrete pours, and pavement.

02

Field Testing

Our technicians arrive on-site, conduct the required tests, and provide same-day or next-day results for most field tests.

03

Reporting

We deliver clear field reports and summary letters for permit close-out, warranty, and record purposes.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule compaction testing? +
Compaction testing should be scheduled at each lift of fill placement, at subgrade preparation, and prior to paving. Early scheduling avoids costly delays if failing tests require rework.
How quickly do you provide test results? +
Most field test results are reported the same day or the following business day. Laboratory tests such as Proctors and grading analyses typically take 5 to 10 business days.
Do you provide inspection letters for building permit close-out? +
Yes. We can prepare summary inspection letters and geotechnical completion reports required by municipalities for building permit close-out.
