Coast Geotechnical provides clear, reliable geotechnical engineering.

We investigate ground conditions, solve complex soil and foundation problems, and deliver designs that are practical, buildable, and rooted in sound geotechnical principles. Our team is deeply engaged in the craft of geotechnical work. We take pride in solving difficult problems and doing it well.

Specialties
Coast Geotechnical Ltd. provides geotechnical consulting across Western Canada. Our experienced team brings practical insight and technical strength to every stage of your project, from first assessments to final foundations.

Geotechnical Reports
Site investigations and reporting for development, permitting, and design support.
Building permit reports, development permit support, subdivision assessments, slope stability analysis, and bearing capacity evaluations.
Hazard Assessments
Analysis and mitigation planning for geotechnical and environmental risks.
Landslide, flooding, erosion, seismic risk, rockfall, and coastal bluff hazard assessments for new or existing sites.
Retaining Walls
Design of retaining structures to support earth and manage grade changes.
Designs include MSE walls, modular block, cast-in-place concrete, stacked boulder, and mortared rock systems.
Septic System Design
Design of on-site wastewater systems in compliance with provincial regulations.
Septic system design, Type 1–3 systems, site suitability studies, percolation testing, and filing with health authorities.
Excavation & Shoring
Engineering of safe excavation and shoring solutions for deep or unstable ground.
Anchored shotcrete, sheet pile, soldier pile, timber lagging, and other temporary or permanent shoring solutions.
Materials Testing
Lab-based testing for soil, concrete, and asphalt to support design and quality control.
Compaction testing, sieve analysis, concrete strength testing, asphalt mix evaluations, and custom lab reporting from our in-house lab in Victoria.
Condition Surveys
Assessment of existing site and geotechnical conditions for planning or due diligence.
Pre-construction surveys, crack monitoring, foundation settlement checks, and assessments for property transactions.
Pile Foundations
Design and monitoring of pile systems for deep or soft soil conditions.
Driven piles, helical piles, drilled shafts, marine piling, PDA testing, and monitoring during installation.
Cone Penetration Testing
In-situ testing for soil classification and foundation design
We provide CPT and SCPT testing with pore pressure and shear wave velocity data for use in site classification, seismic response, and foundation engineering.
Seismic Testing
Site-specific data for seismic design and code compliance.
We perform shear wave velocity testing (Vs) and site classification services to support seismic design requirements under the BC Building Code and NBCC.
